Children who ride at Moat Farm Riding Centre have the opportunity to join the Pony Club, which is the fourth largest Youth Organisation in the United Kingdom.

The Pony Club Centre Membership scheme allows children who do not own their own ponies to benefit from Personal (Third Party) Liability Insurance as well as having fun learning how to look after ponies and increasing their knowledge about  ponies, the countryside and all things equine!

The objectives of The Pony Club are:

• To encourage young people to ride and learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with horses and riding.

• To provide instruction in riding and horsemanship and to instil in Members the proper care of ponies and horses.

• To promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty, thereby cultivating strength of character and self-discipline.

There is an annual subscription payable to The Pony Club at Warwick Headquarters, which gives annual membership as well as Third Party Insurance.

Moat Farm Pony Club Centre

Moat Farm Pony Club Centre meets once a month usually on a Saturday afternoon.

In these sessions, which are un-mounted, we work towards improving their knowledge about the countryside, looking after ponies and all things equine.

During the school holidays we hold pony mornings of three or four hours duration when the children ride as well as doing stable management and games.

Achievement Badges & Efficiency Tests

This gives the children the opportunity to gain their Achievement Badges (of which there are over 40 to collect!) in various topics.

The Achievement Badge is a cloth badge to be sewn on their sweatshirt.

Handouts are given on the various topics and the children do projects on the different subjects.

And lots more…

We also include games, quizzes, treasure and scavenger hunts and competitions in these sessions and have outings to places of interest.
These monthly sessions are un-mounted.

During their weekly, or fortnightly riding lessons the children learn to ride correctly and work towards the Pony Club Progressive and Efficiency Tests.

We also do a fun mounted games team competition each year when the children practice their agility skills and win rosettes.
